An historic Victorian in Dorchester was getting a much-needed kitchen gut renovation. In the process, the family added a powder room in one corner of the renovated space.

The clients wanted a bold powder room, but with the feeling that it was original to the house. We used tiles salvaged from a fireplace demo in another part of the house — there were just enough to cover the upper third of the smallest wall. For the lower portion of wall we used a hefty bead board, and added to the drama with Farrow & Ball’s Lotus wallpaper.
